DUMC hosts several events throughout the
year that celebrate local seasonal blessings from God in a fun and
festive atmosphere. Crafts and crafters, fun family activities,
fantastic live music, FABULOUS food, and more are a part of our
annual seasonal traditions. As always, please check the
calendar for exact times as event locations, times, and themes
change throughout the year.
Strawberry Festival
DUMC's Annual Strawberry
Festival is typically held in May or as soon as the Strawberries are
ready. The theme ingredient for this festival is of course the
strawberry. As such many products made from or about them are
offered by our bakers and crafters. Accompanied by grilled food items (hot dogs, brats,
hamburgers) and the famous
Tongues of Fire BBQ team offerings which
can include ribs, pulled pork, and BBQ chicken among other goodies.
A smoothie stand (non-alcoholic - this is church remember!?), and
water and soft-drinks are always available. Event dates,
times, musical performances and activities vary from year to year
with one constant among them being FUN and FELLOWSHIP! Check the
calendar for exact times and dates.
Peach Festival
DUMC's Annual Peach
Festival is typically held in August or as soon as the Peaches are
ready. The theme ingredient for this festival is of course the
peach. As such many products made from or about them are
offered by our bakers and crafters. Quantities are limited and
it is recommended you get your orders in early for pies and other
goods. When we started running out of pies at the festival the
bakers decided to sell pies a week before the festival date. These
pies are made and picked up the same day (you cannot order pies to
be picked up at the festival). Check the local paper mid July for
the date for ordered pies. These goodies are accompanied by grilled food items (hot dogs, brats,
hamburgers) and the famous
Tongues of Fire BBQ team offerings which
can include ribs, pulled pork, and BBQ chicken among other goodies.

local competitions such as Pork in the Park in Salisbury MD.
The menu varies from event to event but standards are pulled pork
(Boston Butts), BBQ chicken, coleslaw, baked beans, sodas and
water. They occasionally do pit-beef and ribs as well!
